Hello, dear readers! Sorry I’ve been pretty MIA this month, but this spring has been a doozie. I’ve travelled a lot (you might have heard that my sweet Grandmother Dorothy passed away a few weeks ago), and I’ve been working hard on that list of goals for 2015.
I finally have my garden up and running, so you can expect a post on that soon, as well as some reviews of my favorite books I’ve read so far this year.
But for now – a kitchen makeover!
My kitchen wasn’t in horrible shape or anything, it mostly needed a fresh coat of paint, and some actual thought applied to what was on the walls. Here’s the before:
Not too bad, just a little boring…
Is that an upside-down dog in the frame on the bottom right? Yes. Yes it is. And it’s not even my dog.
The upper half of the walls were covered in old holes and scrapes. It just needed a fresh coat of paint.
Enter new paint (in a slightly less yellowy white), some colorful additions from Hobby Lobby, and voila – a new kitchen!
Shoutout to Cara for helping me decide what to hang where!
I haven’t decided yet what to write on my new blackboard – leave me suggestions in the comments!
It’s so nice for my kitchen to look fresh and clean, with simple, functional wall decor – and now I can check kitchen makeover off my 2015 goals list!
Great touches – to make it feel “homey”!!!!. Enjoy your work! Take care, dory muir
