I think it’s time for another basement room reveal! How about it?
If you’re new here, I’m slowly working my way around to posting pictures of our house. It’s nothing fancy, hence the name – The Krampy Shanty. In fact, it’s like the opposite of ‘fancy’ since we bought this house as a foreclosure for $49k in 2014. It was (surprisingly) move in ready, but we did some changes upstairs to add value, along with finishing out most of the basement! We’ve put about $19k into these renovations and doubled our finished square footage.
I revealed our new playroom a few weeks ago. By far the biggest and best addition to our new space! And now it’s time for our master bedroom reveal!
Finally. Some basement pictures!!! Matt and I recently did some $19k updates on our $49k house, The Krampy Shanty. We finished out most of our basement, adding 5 more rooms. Don’t get your hopes up too much though, because this room is by far the biggest and best room we added! Well, I mean… the second bathroom is pretty high up on the list too, but the playroom still takes the cake in my eyes!
Okay, so if we’re friends on Facebook or if you follow me on Instagram, you know by now that we’ve done some major work on our house lately. And by “we” I mean the contractor we hired. Ain’t nobody got time for that. Well, ain’t nobody with three kids under age 3 got time for that.
Matt and I are working our tailbones off getting our new furniture built (Matt), rooms decorated and organized (Cara) and “after” photos taken (Cara while Matt keeps kids entertained in another room). That’s not quite done just yet, but as I was working on it I realized I never even updated with after photos of what our house has looked like for the last three years. Oops. I shared “The Krampy Shanty Before Photos”, but nothing after that.
I often say that I could stare at a single flower all day if given the chance. Flowers are one of my favorite things God created. The intricate details and brilliant colors make my heart skip a beat. In the past, my flowers have been confined to a vase where they don’t survive all that long. Now that we have a house and have planted our first and second flower gardens, I wake up in awe of the new blooms each morning. I love tending to my flowers every day. Watering, weeding, pruning, but mostly just staring and trying to capture with the camera what I see with my naked eye.
I hope you enjoy some of the photos I’ve taken this summer! Below we have a rose of sharon, some hydrangeas, bergenias, and a hibiscus.
I might have created a monster with the kids and the candy, but my mom and mother in law created a monster by teaching me to garden.
After the first garden only took a little over an hour, and it added so much curbside appeal, I figured why not just knock out another one the next day? I know how to do it now, so I might as well get it done.
I’ll go ahead and say from the beginning that all I did to this bed frame was spray paint it. Nothing fancy about this post at all, I just wanted to show you how big of a difference you can make with minimal effort and money.
I’ve been browsing the home decor section on Pinterest a lot more lately (I wonder why?), and I have discovered a deep love for white metal bed frames. So, when this hand-me-down frame was given to us, I decided to paint it white for our guest bedroom.
