The Helpmates is a blog project co-founded by two friends, Cara & Lisa. We hope to glorify God in our blog content and encourage other young women in the course of their day-to-day lives by being honest and open about our experiences and opinions. We want this blog to be a place where you can come to have a clear window into our lives.

Hi, I’m Cara Kramp – former Arkansan currently residing in Louisville, KY. And yes, this is my circus, and these are my monkeys. Family photos with 2 two year olds and 1 nine month old is not for the faint of heart, I tell ya!
Meet my crazy family! My husband – Matt (somehow still smiling), our boy/girl twins – Cherish & Liam, and baby girl – Abi.
Matt is an M.Div. student at Southern Seminary as well as an insurance subrogation analyst for The Rawlings Group, and I’m a stay at home mom!
In our free time, you can find us…. just kidding, we have no free time. But sometimes we lose sleep and sneak in a game night anyways. Splendor, Code Names, and Battle Line are some of our current favorites!

I’m Lisa Kieklak, a native of Fayetteville, Arkansas. I’m married to an amazing man named Steve who is a student at Southern Seminary, and a Youth Pastor at Covenant Community Church here in Yukon, Oklahoma where we live.
After my infertility diagnosis, we’ve been on a crazy embryo adoption journey that brought us our adorable twin boys in April 2017. We also have a crazy German shepherd named Nike.
In the summer of 2018 we started the foster care process and got our first placement in December. It’s been a crazy adventure so far. We’ve been incredibly blessed by our family, friends, and church for all the support they’ve given us as we care for children in need.
Steve & I really enjoy spending time outside (hiking, camping), watching funny shows (Psych, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Friends, The West Wing), reading all the books, playing board games, and just being ridiculous when we’re together.

We have both learned so much about God and ourselves in our first years of marriage and parenting, and we hope to share what we learn along the way with you, as well as posting our varied attempts at domesticity. Look for new posts regularly, and please feel free to share your comments with us – we’re so excited that you’re along for the ride!

Amy, unfortunately I don’t live in Fayetteville anymore – sorry!

Thanks, Bev! We appreciate your encouragement so much! And of course we miss you a ton, too! 🙂
