meet

The Helpmates is a blog project co-founded by two friends, Cara & Lisa. We hope to glorify God in our blog content and encourage other young women in the course of their day-to-day lives by being honest and open about our experiences and opinions. We want this blog to be a place where you can come to have a clear window into our lives.

meet cara 9.1.14I’m Cara Kramp, a former Arkansan currently residing in Louisville, Kentucky. I’m married to the stud on the right, Matt! We have 2 year old boy/girl twins, Cherish and Liam, and a 6 month old baby girl named Abi. We also have an adorable Cocker Spaniel named Jasmine who is a complete and total goofball.

Matt is an M.Div. student at Southern Seminary as well as an insurance subrogation analyst for The Rawlings Group, and I’m a stay at home mom!

When we aren’t changing an assembly line of diapers, you can find us playing strategy board games together and cheering on the Razorbacks. Woo Pig Sooie!!!

meet-lisa-11-4-16I’m Lisa Kieklak, a native of Fayetteville, Arkansas. I’m married to an amazing man named Steve who is a student at Southern Seminary, and a Youth Pastor at Covenant Community Church here in Yukon, Oklahoma where we live.

We have an adorable German shepherd, Nike, and are expecting twins in May! After my infertility diagnosis, we’ve been on a crazy embryo adoption journey that you can read all about here.

Steve & I really enjoy spending time outside (hiking, camping, biking), watching funny shows (Psych, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, the West Wing), reading all the books, playing board games, and just being ridiculous when we’re together. We’ve been known on more than one occasion to set up our tent in the living room and go “camping” for a night or two!

We have both learned so much about God and ourselves in our first years of marriage, and we hope to share what we learn along the way with you, as well as posting our varied attempts at domesticity. Look for new posts regularly, and please feel free to share your comments with us – we’re so excited that you’re along for the ride!
