It’s been a while since I’ve posted an update, but I certainly have some news:
Our second embryo transfer was successful, and we’re expecting a little Kieklak to arrive around May the Fourth!
Since our two embryos were already in Louisville, and we knew we loved our doctor there, we decided to have me travel back to Louisville for the transfer after we moved to Oklahoma.
The Kramps were so great to let me stay with them, especially since I didn’t know the exact date that I would go home. I ended up being there for about three weeks in August, and they were the best hosts I could ask for. And it wasn’t bad getting to hang out with these goobers every day.
I also got to visit my family in Tennessee, and my cousin, Rebecca, came up to Louisville to be there with me during the transfer.
We transferred the remaining two embryos, and waited. About 10 days later, I took a home test and I was pregnant! The doctor did a follow-up test a few days later, and found that my hormone levels were rising nicely.
Then, I finally got to fly home to Steve!
Since then, we’ve found a doctor here that we love, and we’ve already had two appointments with her. We’ve gotten to see an ultrasound and hear the heartbeat a couple of times. Only one of the embryos survived, but we’re so excited that it did!
Hopefully I’ll have time to post again soon about how the first trimester went for me, and some final figures on the adoption fundraiser.
Thank you so much for your prayers and support, God has blessed us so much on this journey to parenthood! You can read about our whole adoption story here.
