The Kieklak Twins {Week 35}

week 35

35-week appointment:

Total weight gain: 51 lbs

I’m having appointments every week now, along with bi-weekly nonstress tests. So far, both boys have been looking great during the tests. I’ll continue them until delivery just to keep a close eye on the boys and make sure that they’re getting enough oxygen.

At my appointment this week, everything was still looking good. I tested negative for Group B Strep, which isn’t a big deal, it just means that they won’t have to give the boys antibiotics when they’re born. As far as my cervix, there hasn’t been any progress since last week, I’m still just 75% effaced. My doctor said she’d be surprised if I delivered before my appointment next week.

Baby A is still head down, and as long as he stays that way I should be able to deliver without a c-section, so we’re praying that he doesn’t have enough room left to flip again.

Symptoms

It’s definitely getting harder and more painful to sit up from laying down or switch from laying on one side to the other. My reflux has kicked it up a notch, which I didn’t even think was possible, so that’s been fun. Another thing I’ve noticed recently is that when I stand up, my knees have started to ache from the strain. I’ve got a pretty small skeletal frame, so they really weren’t designed to hold this much extra weight. Good thing there’s just a few more weeks to go.

Baby Preparations

We’re so ready for these boys to come! We’re halfway through our online childbirth class, which has been pretty helpful. Last weekend we (by which I mean Steve) installed the carseats and I packed my hospital bag. We’ve had the nursery set up and functional for a while now, but I’m finally getting around to decorating some this week. Hopefully I’ll have time to post more on that soon!
