Finally. Some basement pictures!!! Matt and I recently did some $19k updates on our $49k house, The Krampy Shanty. We finished out most of our basement, adding 5 more rooms. Don’t get your hopes up too much though, because this room is by far the biggest and best room we added! Well, I mean… the second bathroom is pretty high up on the list too, but the playroom still takes the cake in my eyes!
Previously, we used our long, narrow living room as part living room and part play room… and also part Matt’s desk. Luckily, I don’t like to keep out a ton of toys at a time (I do that whole toy rotation thing…and also that whole minimalism thing) so it was never crazy overwhelming or anything. But it was a little tough that the play area was in the first room you walked into.
I’m super excited to not only have a room dedicated just to playing, but I’m especially loving the fact that it’s in the basement. And Lord willing, one day it’ll double over as a homeschooling room! I tried to set it up with that in mind, since we’ll likely be in this house still when the twins reach school age.
Okay, I’ve talked enough already, you’re not here for that!
PICTURE TIME!
Why yes, we do have a Harry Potter room under the stairs. It’s reserved for the Harry-Potter-Loving Kieklak twins when they come visit! Looks like some car tracks made it in there currently though. That has Liam’s name written all over it!
There ya have it!!! Our favorite room in the house now! I tried to design it super light and airy since it’s a basement and wouldn’t have much natural light coming in. The white wood tile floors, the rainwashed walls, the giant rug. We couldn’t be happier!
I’ll share more photos of the other 4 rooms in the coming weeks. Thanks for following along!
Cara, it is so delightful to see what you are doing to your home.
I pray the Lord will continue to bless you, Matt, and the children abundantly, as He is doing.
Mary
Thank you so much!!!
